Who doesn’t love Regina Spektor ? That’s what I want to know?

Every since I was captivated hearing “Fidelity”, I new Regina had “it”.
~
Charmingly quirky yet self effacing, Regina got me with just that one song. Since then I have been a huge fan and I have everyone of her songs and albums.
~
Oh, I loved “Far” too.
~
These Regina Spektor posters are true must haves for any fan.

Regina Spektor was amazing and flawless. I got there quite early and was able to stand pretty close and see her. Every song was perfect and just like the ones I always play on my ipod. It was incredible and unbelievable that she could be SO perfect live. I had fun bouncing ad singing along to the music.
Favorite moment: Seeing my music idol perform only 25 feet away from me and confirming how amazing and talented she truly is.
Opening act (s): Only Son-He was okay but a little too low energy to open for Regina Spektor. He has a nice soothing voice and his iPad was his band which was a little cheesy. Overall, I enjoyed the night.

Every song following the first was amazing once Regina took to the piano. Her voice was in great form. You can’t help but fall in love with that perfect mixture of sweetness and sass. She also really rocks that piano and she and the band (drums, cello and keyboards) were very tight. I’m very fond of her albums and she did justice to each and every song she performed, even improving on some from the recorded versions. She was funny and gracious throughout the evening … absolutely a delight to watch perform. The opening act was given a little too much time and I thought the delay between their performance and Regina’s to be too long. Other than that, it was a great concert, worth every penny of the ticket price!

Everywhere I went to find some solace, there were kids texting and talking, even laughing out loud during really beautiful segments of Regina’s performance. We’re not on the school bus here …

This was Regina Spektor’s first concert in South Florida, and she thrilled the crowd with a fantastic show at the Filmore. She continued the show with a variety of songs from her new album “What we saw from the cheap seats”, as well as numerous songs from throughout her career.

Enjoying Spektor’s performance despite all the constant distractions was possible and I take nothing away from the performer. Thankfully, Regina Spektor is not a fly-by-night artist and she’ll be making music for years to come. I look forward to then, seeing her as she matures … and hopefully by then … so does her audience.
