Down Under, They Played a helluva a Concert
From the very first note of Mr. Brightside, the Killers reasserted themselves as exemplary performers; these Las Vegas natives were born for showbiz. The crowd were extremely receptive, lapping up every track with equal amounts of fervour and intensity. On Battle Born, the review say Epic and Grandiose Hmm
a band of epic proportions. If you look for “stadium rock” in a dictionary, a picture of The Killers pops up. Their sound works best when they don’t pretend to be anything else.
Battle Born – also the state motto of Nevada – is a grandiose album with all the familiar synths and roots rock elements that label The Killers. From Hot Fuss to Battle Born
their sophomore slump or The Killers made an Indie/Heartland Rock classic. To me, Sam’s Town was spectacular and got better with each listen. It remains one of my favorite albums of all-time. Speaking of getting better with each listen, isn’t this an underrated feature of an album? What is better: an album that is instantly catchy and dies within a few listens or an album that gets better with each listen and has staying power? I vote the latter and Sam’s Town is definitely the latter. Regardless, Sam’s Town has sold an estimated 4 million copies worldwide compared to Hot Fuss’ estimated 7 million. More Here
